Welcome to the official home of the Mid-Atlantic Fireworks Festival (MAFF), thanks for visiting. The MAFF is put on by the Northern Lights Pyros Club, Inc. and is held in Hughesville, MD. The NLPC is a non-profit organization, based in MA, which promotes the safe, artful, and legal use of fireworks and pyrotechnics in the New England, Tri-State, and Mid-Atlantic regions.

Starting off as a way for local fireworks enthusiasts, MAFF is a twice-yearly event which has grown into a celebration of light and sound, guaranteed to rock you to your soul.

Born from the dust of a local farmer’s soybean field, the MAFF has become a premier showcase of individual and corporate talent, highlighting choreography, timing, and show building skills of the regions top amateur and professional pyrotehcnicians.

Whether you want to volunteer your time to staff the event, enter yourself or a team in the nightly shows, or just sit back to enjoy good friends, fireworks, and barbecue, this place is for you.

There are separate areas for open shooting of both consumer (1.4) and display (1.3) fireworks for most of the afternoon and into the early evening. Around 9:00, when the sky has fully turned into a black canvas, we paint the skies for hours of pyrotechnic bliss.

NOTE: If you intend to attend the event and and only want to watch and stay behind the shooters line in the spectators area, then the event fee is $10 per person to cover food and event costs.
